"SAY NO AND WALK AWAY!"

My wife was telling me about the guest motivational speaker they had for the end of school rally at the middle school where she teaches. And this comes during the after math of the loss of Danny. This speaker is an 11 year old student at the the same school. He preached like any exiting seasoned precher you would see in a good predominatly black folk chruch, walking back and forth with the mic in hand, pointing over the crowd. I don't say that with predjudice, I love those guys! They preach the word most of the time, my kids want to go to a black church!

Anyway, this kid got up there and had the whole crowd of kids hollering out, he said, "When your faced with this stuff wether to do drugs or sex or anything else that is wrong you gotta do two things, say no, and walk away!"

All the kids were yelling, "Say no and walk away!" with him. He said, "Look at the person next to you, they are your friends, but some of them aint your friends, they'er doing drugs and skipping school and they want tell ya you can too, but ya gotta do two things!" And everyone with him shouted, "SAY NO AND WALK AWAY!

And he said, "All they want a do is drag ya down with em! I look out over all you people and I see doctors, and lawyers, and professionals, and footbal stars, and basketball stars, but if you got a police record, the NFL don't want nothin ta do with ya, because you didn't say NO! You gotta protect yourself and do two things!" And all the kids shouted, "SAY NO AND WALK AWAY!"

My wife said he ended with scripture without refernce and he really did motivate everyone, even the teachers!

He had my wife hollering out "AMEN! Preach on brother!" I laughed and cried as she told me this and wished I could have been there. That kid put the superintendant's little "feel good" speach to shame!

Praise God for this kid, and his daddy IS a preacher!
