I had the glorious opportunity to spend over 4 hours with a very special child last evening.  This little boy suffered oxygen deprivation at birth and is labeled as severely developmentally delayed.  I volunteered to watch over him so his parents could go out for their anniversary.  I know this child (or thought I knew him) because he is in our children's hospice.

After spending over 1 1/2 hours struggling to get him to eat, I prepared him for bed.  I tucked him in and said; "OK, let's say our prayers."  His face lit up and he smiled from ear to ear.  As I said the prayer, the Spirit was so strong I had chill bumps all over me.  I cannot accurately describe the glow on that child's face.  After the prayer, I kneeled beside his bed and held his hands for a very long time.  I was in the presence of God and did not want to leave.  This child cannot speak but his praises were being lifted up right before me and I knew I was in the company of a very special child of God.

When his parents came home they thanked me profusely for allowing them to have some time together.  I thanked them profusely for giving me the opportunity to care for their very special little boy.  The mother told me that she always knew in her heart there was something very special about this child.

"He knows God on a very personal level"; I told her.  She replied; "I know.  I've been trying to tell people that".

What a blessing!

Thank you for sharing this wonderful testimony. I have met a few children who seemed to have that special closeness to God, and I always came away feeling blessed. When you look into their eyes.............blessings follows.

How blessed you were.  We should cherish those special moments of blessings such as these and never forget God works in and through  special people who are commonly overlooked.  Praise God for His goodness!

Amen Brother Steven his body may have suffered oxygen deprivation but it is very evident that his soul didn't. God works through everyone, sometimes in mysterious ways.

Dear Brother, thank you for your message from the heart.  If we could only be as that child and go to the Lord daily as that child does with simple faith and love.  By the Grace of God we have so many examples before us, to come to him as a child through his son, is our Heavenly Fathers gift to us, if we so choose to receive it.  Then, through Jesus Christ we shall go to our Father as his children and be blessed with an eternal home with him.  Thank you Brother.

After putting thought and prayer of how to pray for this child,  into your message, at first I really did not know what to pray for that loving suffering child that you mentioned.   The only thing that came to me was, what may already be so through Jesus, but I shall pray it anyways to Praise and Glorify our Heavenly Fathers love for us and the child you mentioned.

I pray Dear Jesus, my Saviour, the child that was mentioned in this post, through your love, never knows the pain and suffering it is going through.  That we may follow the lead this brave, graceful loving child has shown us, to serve you through all we endeavor here on earth and all we do, to come to you as children always, so we may Glorify only our Heavenly Father through you with our faith and our works. Amen
