Last night I got a call from my baby brother in Pensacola. The last time I spoke with him I was very direct because he sang a song that referred to God as a female, I let him know in no uncertain terms that would happen in my house and he should respect that knowing my faith before hand. So I havn't heard from him in several months.

Last night he called to tell me that he and a friend of his are starting a "Christian band," and he needed my advice on writng Christian songs and how to study the Word of God! I about fell out of my chair! He told me that he has been reading Psalms and other passages trying to understand what God is leading him to do.

He also said his friend, who dosen't know as much scripture as he does, keeps telling him that it's no coincidence that their paths crossed and all the events that have come about over the past 4 years. That he thinks the Lord has "ordained" that they are to write and perform for God.

Oscar says he has been aprehensive about being tagged "Christian Band" but that he had prayed about it, and at work thursday scripture came to his mind and he understood that it's a matter of trusting the Lord. the scripture was Proverbs 3:5-6, and "If God is for us who can be against us." I was obliged to help him out so I preached a good and simple sermon about faith in Christ Jesus.

After that I got my wife and we got on our knees and poured out thanksgiving to The Lord God Almighty!

Through all of this, I realized that God has shown me what a special use he has for me. I have often struggled with the thought that I am "A has been that never was" concerning music and song writing. But as it turns out, 25+ years of what apears to be failure is actually profitable teaching and wisdom. The Lord gave me everything I needed to say and at the same time the Holy Spirit was teaching me!

I'll tell ya, what my brother shared with me last night is a direct and absolute answer to prayers for him. And I understand what the Lord is doing because the same thing happened with me. The songs they are writing are amuzingly spiritually imature, but I wrote the exact same kind of things and have seen it from other people who have just realized the truth. It's like looking back through a 3 dimentional mirror of time. I have no doubt that my little brother and probably his friends will grow in faith and wisdom, they may not have the success they dream about, but the Lord will use them in more ways than they could ever imagine!

Pray for Oscar and Jessy, that the Lord will use his word to open their eyes and ears wide and give them great wisdom and strength!

To God be the glory forever and ever AMEN!

Hallelujah Brother Ken; we never know when, where or how the Lord is going to work; but He does in his own mysterious way. I pray that he will open himself up to the Lord and yield completely to His will.
