Many of times people write things we do not agree with.  Their tone is offensive, or perhaps insulting to us, or doctrinally they are not in our league.  Well, there is help in the form of the

The IGNORE button can be found on the left side of the screen just under the persons picture.  And if for some reason you want to unIGNORE them, well just click the button again... OR there is another button where you can take a peek at what they say.  How?  Well, when you put someone on your IGNORE list whenever you come across where they left a message you will find a message that says their message is being ignored... and to the right is a SHOW button.

It is pretty handy.

Oh, yes before I forget.  Not only can you IGNORE a certain person you can ignore an entire message category that might not be to your taste or liking.  For example, if you would like to ignore the Current Events category.

You would look near the top of the screen and click on the blue PROFILE linke.  This displays your profile.  Then on the left you will see a series of link options.  Click on Ignore Boards Preferences

This brings up a list of the board categories.  You can put a checkbox on each of the categories you want to hide i.e. IGNORE.  Don't forget to click the Change Profile button at the bottom of the screen.  If you change your mind, just repeat the process and uncheck each of the categories you would like to show again.

I know this may be getting a little picky. There is no one that I want to ignore, nor is there an entire category that I wish to ignore. There are, however, certain threads that I do not wish to see. A good example would be the "nothing" and "something" threads. While the people continuing to post here seem to be really enjoying themselves (Carl is easily amused), I would prefer not to see these threads.

Is there a way to ignore a thread?

Ah, Brother Dale. Laughter is the best medicine. I'm sure that GOD looks down on us everyday laughing at the things we say and do. I understand that each person enjoys different things. If people don't enjoy certain topics, they can choose not to look at them. It's not a thing that just because they are there we are forced to view it. When a topic shows up as being unread, there is a button that reads "mark read" that takes care of it without even opening up the topic. So read what you want and don't read what you don't want, that's what I do. GOD bless

Cry  Help! I'm ignored and I can't get unignored! I seem to have fallen into the ignore pit a long time ago. Will someone please just put me on the unread list.

BTW: the only reason I pick on Carl is because he can dish out just as much as he can take in. If you notice,I don't pick on thin skinned people. It's too easy for them to get Son Burned and depart company because of some unwanted remark. Yep, I spelled that right,"Son" is the word. Some people get burned by Him on a regular basis. Some of us like Carl take the chastisement in stride and try to do better. Others can't take the pressure and go back out into the world that they so fondly remember. Grin
