Goals for UCFM

Sr. Pastor Fred shared some goals with me that he would like to see happen with UCFM in the coming months. A lot has to do with leadership, but please all members read through this list. Share with us your comments or possible goals that you would like to see happen in UCFM. Remember, you are UCFM and Jesus leads us all.
One of the things I have received is that the Leadership Handbook is a rich and beautiful gift of God. It is no accident, and may serve as a general road map to acheiving the will of God in using the UCFM to do our portion of His Ministry.
It is a blessing to see the Ministry Growing with leadership. However there are a few pitfalls.
I offer that without a vision, a plan, goal setttings and then plan to accomplish, that leaders having nothing more to do than look at their title, wonder what they are to do, and pushing online internet buttons will lead to some of our past problems.
I would suggest that each regional eldership team focus on setting some realistic goals that are achievable, and I would suggest that several of these goals be;
1. Post Messages as a group about the Love of Christ.
2. Post as a group Messages about How to Conflict resolution
3. Post Messages as a groupo about making Commitments in a world where there are no commitments.
I would also suggest that they agree that as a group they would refrain from making any sharp responses or enter into any debates about these messages... but let them stand as they are.
4. Establishing Leadership pairing with one another (within their regional leadership), each leader making a verbal commitment to regularly contact. This should be via a Bishop assignment so that it is evenly placed and matched. The stress should not be on these visits as doing the work, but upon relationship building.
5. Establishment of pairing with members listed in each leaders Profile box. This should be a goal setting within a region and the region as a team have a conference to give details and discussion of these contacts. Perhaps talking about some difficulties, some hard questions asked, some great surprises and praise reports. Perhaps the meeting could be a prayer meeting for the needs of members. You might instruct to ask upon making contact with paired members that they ask if they need prayers - and then bring those prayers with them to their monthly regional conferences.
Also stress being polite, in making contacts i.e. ask if it is a good time to call... making this building steps... where maybe the first conversation is a few minutes, next month maybe 5 minutes, and then 10-15... but we must be sensititive to how comfortable the member is and build in steps a relationship and not overwhelm them. Again I think this should be done as a group and as a group the leadership gives reports of who and what ... also watch out for confidentiality. These contacts should focus on RELATIONSHIP i.e. partnership building trust and respect one small step at a time.
6. And then the next goal should I believe to set fellowship gatherings. These I believe are an absolute must. Members must fellowship or they will be disconnected. They should be well planned and set up as a group with all participating and everyone given a task- even if they cannot attend (this is a big task for the Bishop and trusted asst. to make sure the ball is rolling and any wrinkles straightened out).
7. Perhaps they as a regional leadership group may commit to holding a online chat 1 night per week, where everyone of them makes a commitment to participate a certain amount...
8. Plan an event with another group outside the UCFM... etc..
But most importantly IF they set a goal... they all have to make a real commitment that each and everyone of them will be actively working on it and the Bishop should make sure everyone participates...

I understand the process and agree on the fact of "first things first". In otherword developing a unity of the membership and after that is actually established. I would love to see different districts have events such as food gathering, furniture gathering and such to help those who do not have or have lost theirs during this crisis in our country, in our world. To help and love each other through it all as Christ has instructed us to do in his name. This goes for the ones we know in UCFM and the ones outside of UCFM. By the Grace of God, these charitable hearts in Christ at UCFM can accomplish these and many more goals in the name of our Saviour to serve our Heavenly Father. Like I stated at the beginning of this post, "first things first".
That would be to establish and define the Unity as Mike stated in his post. May the Lord see us through this and make us strong in his cause. To serve our heavenly Father as he did in getting the word of God out. Doing so, with charity and Love for all in his name. Thy Will be done.

I could not agree more Bro Mike and Bro Kevin..I am praying that God by his Spirit will move upon each and everyone to committ to building true Godly unity within UCFM and then be able to reach out beyond
the 4 walls so to speak and touch those outside UCFM as well...but that cannot take place till WE start right here at home.
Thank you for posting those goals Bro Mike...all I can say is amen and amen

I am in agreement with the posts. I see no reason why we can not put,"first things first". All ideas expressed are attainable if we work together as a team and make it happen.A general is just one man without an army.By that same spirit we are just one minister or leader without the help and support of each team member. As a team of unity we can reach goals that have always seemed impossible to reach. Shorty we will be approving the list of Pairing Elders for Region 3. This is how Jesus commanded his disciples to work, so I see no reason why we will fail with our pairing. There may need to be adjustments for various reasons, but I have no doubt that it will succeed.

I would love to see fellowship develop here in PA through UCFM; in fact, under Region 3 Announcements I have replied to someone else desiring the same thing... PA is here but very disconnected.... Do we even have local PA leadership through UCFM. So far the closest Elder I've been contacted by is in Ohio... kinda far away from my location. To travle to an Ohio gathering would be nearly impossible outside of a direct act of God.
I am in high favor of seeing this come to pass in PA!

I am In Canada, Are we included? I am willing and able just ask.
I have a question for the UCFM leaders.
Would you kindly tell me why no one from the leadership of UCFM make it a priority or an obligagtion to represent this organisation by being present for things such as members being ordained (Laying on of hands) .
Suggestion!!! Should we create a fund that will pay travelling expenses for leaders in order that they may be present for services such as the laying on of hands?
(It leaves me feeling like an orphan when the people who have ordained me are not there to lay hands on me.)
Could these be considered future goals? Happy Easter

Doreen, I know in the past when I was in leadership, when we had UCFM gatherings, we would perform laying of hands ceremonies on newly ordained ministers that were present. I assume that is still being done. GOD bless

Another idea that I came up with recently, as a result of a personal situation was if we could network and maybe even create a business venture for this idea:
The FTD businesses deliver flowers at the request of customers. What if a network of ministers could be available to deliver Christian based gifts and services to different people for others. For instance, my uncle is still in Augusta as a result of his burns. It would be a blessing if I could pay someone to go by there and pray with him and give him communion and flowers or so in my absense of being able to get out there.
If there was a network, even such as in UCFM, we could place an order in a certain area and a member in that area could go pay hospital visits with flower deliveries, including prayer and communion (or whatever ordinance was requested) in that particular geographic area for about the same price as it would cost to normally have flowers delivered from a regular FTD contractor.
What do you think? I'd be open to be a point of contact for my areas (Columbus and Gwinnett County). I was thinking about trying to start something like this for my personal ministry, but I think the potential would be far greater for an organization like UCFM.
