It certainly isn't as dramatic as a tumor disappearing or waking up from a coma, but God answered my prayer just as clearly as if it were.

I had an awful upper respiratory infection yesterday.  Other members of my family have had it and it has had them homebound for almost a week.  I was running a fever, aching all over, coughing, and had a terrible headache.  The problem is that 2 of my nurses are out at the children's hospice where I work.  I was taking on their workloads in addition to my own.

Last night I prayed; "Dear God. You know this isn't for my own comfort, but we really need to put this illness on hold for a while for the sake of the children and their families."

I feel great now. No signs that I ever was even ill.  Praise God.  I've got a lot of work to do this afternoon and evening and God made sure I was able to do so.

I'm just not really looking forward to completing the process of this illness. Hopefully; God will give me a pass instead of a rain check.  If he doesn't,  I won't despair.
