I'm not real sure if this is a praise report or not.  Maybe I will figure it out by the time I am done writing this.  I just spent part of the afternoon at my daughters house playing with 4 year old Alexis.  Alexis is our cousins little girl.  In November Alexis's 35+ year old father committed suicide after battling bi-polar disorder and depression and a long addiction to hard narcotics, Frank left a scathing suicide note blaming everything on his wife, 35 year old Kristi.  This has pushed Kristi over the edge and she has now fallen headlong into her own narcotic drug addiction.  She is also bi-polar and suffers from depression.  Since November, Kristi has been in and out of the hospital several times and is supposed to be going into another drug rehabilitation program but has not gone yet and seems to be slipping farther and farther into her addiction.  Two years ago, Kristi's 33 year old sister Laura was found dead, apparently from a prescription drug overdose in her apartment.  I am right, none of that is very praise worthy, although we have not and will not give up on Kristi, we keep her in our constant prayers.  The one wise thing she has done was relinquish custody of her little girl Alexis to my daughter Jodi.  That is where the praise part comes in.  I praise the Lord Jesus for having placed such a loving and sacraficial heart in my daughter.  Her and her family have been amazing, stepping up and saying that NO, this child was Not going into Foster Care.  Alexis is now happily adjusting to her new home with my daughter, her husband and their 3 children.  It was such a heart wrenching joy to spend the time this afternoon with Alexis.  She is such a beautiful and innocent little girl.  It rips my heart to think of all she has been through and may yet have to go through if her mother does not straighten up really soon.  She is such an intelligent and loving child.  All she wants is to have a loving family to call her own and I thank the Lord God almighty that He has provided that home through my daughter and her family.

Brother,

This most definitely is a praise report for once again our Lord has touched a heart to do what is best for the child.  I will be keeping you and your family in prayer for protection, direction, and restoration, for our God is a God of a sound mind, purpose and direction. The Word is true in saying that a double minded man is unstable in all their ways. Unfortunately, when we just start to think that we see a glimmer of light, they flip and cause so much turmoil and confusion that everyone connected to them is affected.
